OUR PROGRAMMES

ENCOURAGING INNOVATION AND RAISING AWARENESS AROUND THE NEED FOR DEVELOPMENT IN THE ENERGY FIELD

Beyond  recognizing pioneering research across the world through its annual award, the Global Energy Prize manages a range of programmes on science and innovation geared toward younger audiences and toward honoring superior media coverage on energy subjects.

The Energy of Knowledge project is a series of interactive lectures given by the winners of the Global Energy Prize and other prominent energy scholars. The programme works to raise interest in energy issues among young people and to unleash the potential of young researchers within the sector. Ultimately, the project aims to increase the number of young energy scientists, as well as to strengthen the knowledge networks that make working in nuclear energy an attractive career choice.

The first lecture series was delivered by the President of the Kurchatov Institute E. P. Velikhov, a recipient of the Global Energy Prize. The lectures were broadcast to more than 7,000 students in 23 Russian universities and generated extensive interest among the student population.

The lectures were also delivered by The GEP International Award Committee Chairman Rodney John Allam,  GEP International Award Committee member Tom Blees, famous Spanish solar energy researcher Antonio Luque and many others.
