
The 2019 global energy prize laureate khalil amine received the ‘oscars of innovation’ for the development of lithium batteries
Developments by researchers at the Argonne National Laboratory, where Khalil Amine, the 2019 Global Energy Prize laureate, runs Advanced Lithium Battery Technology Group, received nine of R&D 100 awards for 2019. The award program, called the ‘Oscars of Innovation’, annually recognises revolutionary ideas in science and technology. Khalil Amine was awarded for ‘developing one of the highest energy density lithium battery with long cycle life and excellent abuse tolerance for both automotive and smart grid scale applications’.
