During the discussion, Alexander Sergeyev said that the Russian Academy of Sciences is ready to contribute to the promotion of the Global Energy Prize in scientific circles in Russia and at international sites with the participation of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Sergei Brilev, in turn, invited members of the Academy of Sciences to participate more actively in the projects of the Association, particularly, in the nomination process. The candidates for the Global Energy Prize can be nominated until March 20 on the Association’s official website.
In the context of expanding further cooperation of Global Energy Association, it was proposed to refine the possibility of cooperation with the Council on the priority area of scientific and technological development of Russia, chaired by Academician Vladimir Fortov. Не was awarded the Global Energy Prize in 2013 for the research into thermophysical properties and powerful impulse energy devices that are used as a basis for the creation of impulse generators, high-current limiters, lightning stroke simulators for high-voltage lines, and efficient energy conversion device
The Global Energy Association and the Russian Academy of Sciences have been collaborating for many years. Academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences such as Sergey Alekseenko, Valentin Parmon, Gennady Mesyats, Eduard Volkov, Oleg Favorsky and others have become the Global Energy Prize laureates in different years. At the end of the meeting, Alexander Sergeyev agreed to take part in the panel discussion of the Global Energy Association at the upcoming SPIEF 2020.
