The battery is based on radioactive isotopes used in nuclear reactors, and its radioactive core is protected by layers of synthetic diamonds, which are one of the strongest materials in the world.
Diamonds absorb energy through inelastic dispersion and generate electricity.
The company has already started developing the first commercial prototype battery and expects to complete it as early as this year.
“We were able to achieve a grandiose, innovative and patented technological breakthrough by creating a battery that is emission-free and can operate for thousands of years,” the company quotes Nim Golsharifi, one of the founders of the startup.
