The Mexican government has received $2.4 billion dollars in the form of insurance against falling oil prices linked to the pandemic in 2020, the country’s finance ministry said. Mexico, which produces 1.7 million barrels a day, was able to compensate for 80 % of its lost income thanks to a special hedging programme.
