CO2 capture could become a business at $70-100 per tonne – Gazprom Neft

      A system of CO2 capture could become an additional business for oil and gas companies provided the market in carbon price units undergoes development, the CEO of Gazprom Neft, Alexander Dyukov, told the Tyumen Oil and Gas Forum.

     “There is no doubt that this could become a business, but on condition that the market of carbon price units sees some development and the CO2 price reaches a specific level of $70-100 a tonne,” Dyukov said in reply to a question from the President of the Global Energy Association, Sergey Brilev.

    Gazprom Neft is already engaging in such a project in Serbia through the NIS energy group. In Russia, Gazprom Neft is undertaking a pilot project in the central Orenburg region.
