Namibia intends to build a facility for annual production of 300,000 tonnes of green hydrogen, HYPHEN Hydrogen Energy, the operator of the project, announced. The project, estimated to cost $9.4 billion, calls for generating capacity of 5 gigawatts (GW) and 3 GW of electrolyser capacity.

The European Union’s Executive Commission has issued a proposal to the bloc’s member-states to include nuclear power and gas in its green “taxonomy”, which determines a list of sectors determined to be positive in achieving carbon neutrality.
