In 2022, Japanese auto parts manufacturer TPR invested $5 million in a new type of hydrogen internal combustion engine developed by Israeli company Aquarius Engines. The latter consists of one central cylinder in which the piston moves between two heads. This engine design is especially effective when using hydrogen.
Nigeria has commissioned the first of four units of the Zungeru hydropower plant (HPP), with the total capacity of 700 megawatts (MW). Construction of the remaining three units, which must be completed before the end of 2022 will increase the capacity of the Nigerian hydropower plants from the current 2.1 gigawatts (GW) to 2.8 GW.
