During the ceremony, Alla Kalinina, the VolSU Rector, presented Sergey Brilev with a diploma, gown and academic cap.

“This is really a great honour for me, and these are not ordinary words. Despite my passion for international projects, for me, as a Russian, being on Volgograd, Stalingrad land is certainly touching, and to be at Volgograd State University is all the more pleasant,” said Sergey Brilev during the ceremony.

VolSU is active in research activities in such areas as international relations, economics and management of energy efficiency, introduction and operation of renewable energy sources under the transition conditions, development of the “smart production” concept and the issues of sustainable development of the industries and enterprises of the Russian energy sector.

Meeting with Alla Kalinina, the VolGU Rector, Sergey Brilev proposed to attract scientists from the Southern Federal District for participation in the next nomination cycles of the Global Energy Prize.

The President of the Association also delivered a lecture to the students and professors on “Latin America: the Area of the West and the Russian Area” where he talked about interesting facts about the history of the countries of this continent and shooting a movie about interaction between Latin America and the Soviet Union during the World War II. The movie will be partially shot at the museum-reserve of “The Battle of Stalingrad”, Volgograd.
