Paraguay y Brasil ponen manos a la obra para modernizar una de las mayores estructuras hidráulicas del planeta: la central hidroeléctrica de Itaipú.

The engineers from Solar Integration, a Dagestan company, developing portable solutions in the field of solar energy have begun production of burqas (felt cloaks) with 30-watt photovoltaic cells sewn in. The development will help solve the problem of getting access to electricity in the Caucasus remote mountainous regions where a felt cloak is a traditional shepherd’s clothing.

The world’s first zero-emission pushboat, the Electra, was launched in Berlin at the end of May. It is equipped with hydrogen fuel cells with a total capacity of 300 kW, photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 2.5 kW-peak, and lithium-ion batteries (with a capacity of 116 kWh and 1,160 kWh, respectively). It will be used for transporting the Ursus barge, which is supposed to carry industrial cargo between Berlin and Hamburg.
