The Suzuki Concern, Japan, has switched its plant, located in the Indian state of Gujarat, to renewable power generation. In compliance with the car manufacturer’s order, ReNew Power Company is to build a 17.6 MW wind-solar hybrid plant, which is supposed to fully supply electricity to the plant.
China has commissioned the eighth of sixteen power generating units of the Baihetan hydropower plant on the Jinsha River, the upper section of the Yangtze River. When completed, it is going to be the world’s largest hydropower plant with a total installed capacity of 16 gigawatt (GW), which makes it the second to Three Gorges HPP (22,5 GW) located in Hubei Province, the eastern and central China, and puts ahead of the Itaipu HPP (14 GW), the largest hydropower plant in the western hemisphere.
