The world’s first fuel cell train

German regional rail carrier LNVG has launched the world’s first fuel cell train built by Alstom, a French engineering company. The train, called Coradia iLint, could replace diesel-powered trains on railway lines in Lower Saxony.

Philippines have begun feasibility study of the first in country WPP

Philippines’ utility Aboitiz Power Corporation jointly with the investment fund Climate Capital Management and the RMI Research Center have started feasibility study of a cascade of coastal wind turbines of total capacity 3 (GW). The project’s participants will have to complete the feasibility study by mid-2023, stated industrial publication Clean Technica.

East Africa will reduce energy shortage with a new HPP

Construction of the hydropower plant (HPP) Rusumo-Falls located in East Africa is 95% complete, reported Xinhua agency. The project of slightly less than 80 megawatt (MW) capacity and $340 mln cost will feed consumers in three countries of the region – Burundi, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
