The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has provided MGA Thermal with $1.27 million to build a pilot plant for steam generation from the accumulated thermal energy. The plant will be able to store 5 MWh of energy at a time, follows from the ARENA message.

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission published a directive prescribing the issue of a safety certificate for the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) project developed by NuScale company. The regulator thereby has completed a more than five-year process of certification allowing NuScale to begin the SMR construction in the United States.
