China approves launching of the thorium molten salt reactor

The Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SINAP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences received an approval from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment on launching an experimental molten salt thorium reactor, which has been under construction since 2018 in Wuwei city, Gansu Province, central China.
