The Global Energy Association is taking part in the 7th Energy Week organised by the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE). The event takes place in Panama, from December 12 to December 16. The conference is organised in collaboration with the Energy Secretariat of Panama and the Inter-American Development Bank. The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by Laurentino Cortizo, the President of Panama.

At the Energy Week, the Global Energy Association is represented by its President Sergey Brilev. “The Global Energy and OLADE signed a partnership agreement in 2021. Among other things, this has promoted an increase in the number of nominees for our Prize from Latin American countries. In the 2021-2022 nomination cycle, applications were received from eight countries of the region, which was a record for twenty years of the Prize’s history. In 2023, the Association will hold a series of events in Latin and Central America. Those are designed to emphasise the important place of the developing countries in the world energy balance”, Sergey Brilev said on the sidelines of the forum.

In the context of cooperation with the Association, OLADE Executive Secretary Alfonso Blanco gave an interview to Sergey Brilev in 2021, and also became one of the spokespersons at the Regional Energy Challenges in a Globalising World, a session jointly held by the Global Energy and the Ibero-American Studies Center.
