“If we look at the entire Latin America, the statistics tell us that 60% of electricity in our countries is generated by the hydropower plants, 13% – by wind power plants, 6% – by solar power plants and the other energy sources account for 19-20%. This proportion will stay the same until 2030”, he said.
“These are the average metrics of our countries; sometimes, we separate Brazil, where the HPP share in the energy balance gets to 65%, while in Uruguay it makes only 13%”, the expert specified.
