“Today a lot of generating capacities have been built, so generation is no longer a problem, however, the situation with the distribution grids is different. There are not enough of them in rural areas, and the level of wear-and-tear in them is huge. This seriously impedes electricity supplies”, he mentioned.
According to Amadi, the loss in distribution grids is achieving the level of 29% per annum. “Thus, circa 28.7% of electricity generated from June 2021 to July 2022 simply was not sold and the respective revenue was not received. These losses are really huge”, the expert highlighted.
