Two new nuclear reactors with a total capacity of 2.2 gigawatts (GW) will be brought into operation in the United States, says the Energy Information Administration (EIA). The reactors in question are the third and fourth power units of the Vogtle NPP located in the southeastern state of Georgia.

China and India are responsible for two-thirds of the coal-fired power plants brought into operation worldwide in 2022, says Global Energy Monitor. Out of the 45.5 gigawatts (GW) of coal-fired TPPs commissioned globally, China and India account for 30.3 GW.
