The country consumes about 8.5 billion cubic meters of gas and 8 million tons of oil per year, about 80% of which is covered by the energy supplies from Russia.
“We have never received a proposal from any country able to offer the same volume of oil and gas using the same infrastructure, with the same security degree of supply and for the same price,” he said.
“Therefore, we consider all the attempts made by the EU to restrict oil imports from Russia as an attack on our sovereignty,” the minister added.
