On December 5, 2024, Evgeny Velikhov, a world-famous physicist, laureate of the Global Energy Prize, who made a huge contribution to the development of thermonuclear energy, passed away. Our Association presents Velikhov’s autobiography, where he shares his memories of his scientific journey, as well as talks about the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. In 1986, Velikhov oversaw the creation of a concrete slab under the damaged reactor to prevent radioactive water from leaking into the groundwater.
