According to the Minister, over 8,100 bbl per day may be the total output of new oilfields Djabou, Sayahid, Aiphan, Nuwayr, Damda and Curcas, as well as at petroleum reservoirs of the previously discovered fields Berry and Unaizah-A. It will be oil of grades Arabian Extra Light, Arabian Light, and Arabian Medium. Also, over 2.1 mln cubic feet of associated gas may be received.
As for the natural gas, the Minister of Energy announced the discovery of gas fields Ghizlan (32 mln cubic feet per day, 2,525 bbl of condensate) and Araam (24 mln cubic feet per day, 3,000 bbl of condensate). Gas deposit Qusaibah was also discovered in the Eastern section of Mikhvaz field (3.5 mln cubic feet per day, 485 bbl of condensate). Gas reserves with the flowrate of 9.5 mln cubic feet per day were discovered at Marzuk field as a result of drilling new wells. Gas formations Arab-D (10 mln cubic feet per day) and Upper Jubaila (1,5 mln cubic feet per day) were drilled in the same area.
According to Prince Abdulaziz, these discoveries not only enhance the leading positions of Saudi Arabia in the global hydrocarbons industry for decades to come, but also promote global energy security.
