On April 1, the Global Energy Association opens a call for entries to take part in the 2026 Energy of Words contest. The contest is designed for journalists, bloggers and news agency reporters covering key events and major trends in the global energy sector.
Winners will be selected in the following categories:
«Best article on energy»
«Best video material on energy»
«Best photo at energy facilities»
Submissions must be published on or after January 1, 2025. The following formats are accepted: articles published in print outlets or released online; independent research; interviews; video reports, including those released online; blogs; podcasts; and special projects by news agencies.
A panel of independent experts will evaluate the entries based on a number of criteria: relevance, uniqueness, substance and factual accuracy. The best submissions will form a shortlist from which the jury will select the winners through a secret vote.
“Last year, the contest attracted 210 entries from 31 countries. I am confident that this benchmark will be maintained in 2026. All the signs are there. Today, the energy sector is at the epicenter of rapidly changing market conditions and geopolitical upheavals. These factors are driving the emergence of new technological solutions, the implementation of large-scale projects, and a reassessment of the entire logic behind the development of the global energy market. All of this shapes a dense and substantive agenda that requires thoughtful and professional coverage,” says Sergey Brilev, President of the Global Energy Association.
Entries will be accepted through September 1, 2026. Submissions are to be filed at https://energyofwords2026.com/, where you can also find rules, general provisions, contest procedure and conditions.
The award ceremony will take place at the Russian Energy Week International Forum to be held from October 14 to 16 in Moscow.
