Chile commenced construction of 105.6 MW WPP with energy storage system
Enel Green Power Chile, the Chilean subsidiary of Enel Group of energy companies, commenced the construction of La Cabana 105.6 MW wind power plant (WPP) located in La Araucania region in the central part of Chile. The power plant will be equipped with the battery energy storage facility for 34.3 MW.
Russian scientists developed new method for breaking oil-water emulsions
The scientists from the V.I. Vernadsky Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) developed a new method for breaking field oil-water emulsions into water and oil without specialised chemical agents. It helps to receive feedstock for downstream refining or for sales. The research outcomes are published in the Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering.
Clean coal: experiment in low-carbon generation from solid fuel
In March 2023, Japan’s Osaki CoolGen Corporation will complete its experimental project for generating electricity from coal with minimum CO2 emissions, which has been ongoing since 2012 in the town of Ōsakikamijima located in Hiroshima Prefecture in the south of Japan.
