Scientists from the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov have developed a composite material that makes it possible to triple the capacity of polymeric energy concentrators. The results of their work have been published in the journal Nanomaterials issued by Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI).
Temperature swings in Arctic may be related to planetary waves, study says
Scientists from Saint Petersburg State University (SPbU) have come to the conclusion based on the results of studying planetary waves that these waves are capable of generating extreme warming and cooling in the Arctic and in northern temperate latitudes. The results of their study have been published in the journal Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, which is issued by the European Geosciences Union.
Nuclear renaissance: investments in NPP construction double since 2015
Global investments in the construction of nuclear power plants (NPPs) will grow by 18% and reach $63 bln in 2023, more than doubling the total for 2015 ($29 bln). This forecast was given by the International Energy Agency (IEA) in the latest issue of the World Energy Investment annual report.
