RECOGNISING OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS IN ENERGY

The Global Energy Prize annually honors outstanding achievements in energy research and technology from around the world that are helping address the world’s various and pressing energy challenges.

A unique promotion for the experts at the ENES -2015

The “Global Energy”, Non-profit partnership is the organizer of the eponymous international energy prize, which is being called by the world’s media as the “Energy Nobel”. Within the 4th International Forum on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving ENES-2015 the Partnership holds a unique promotion.

For the first time in the 13-year history of the project the experts of the largest energy event in Russia have the unique right to nominate for the Global Energy Prize.

As a reminder, the self-nomination for the Prize is not acceptable. Traditionally, the right to nominate candidates for the prize is given to the world's leading minds of the energy community, who are included in the nomination pool. Nowadays there are 3000 people from 83 countries in it. Among them are: Nobel Prize laureates in the fields of physics and chemistry;laureates of the following prizes and awards: Kyoto, Max Planck, Wolf, Balzan, Sheikh Zayed, Energy Globe, Goldman Environment and the UNEP Sasakawa Prize; members of Russian and foreign Academies of Sciences; laureates of the Global Energy Prize; members of national (regional) committees supporting the Global Energy Prize, and scientists/organizations especially invited by the Partnership for said purposes.

“-This year we decided to conduct some kind of experiment and enable the participants and guests of ENES 2015 to make their own nominations for the Prize. This is a real chance to leave your name in the history of global energy!”- says the Partnership’s President Igor Lobovsky.  -  “Without any doubt, we are proud of each and every one of our laureates. And of course we are grateful to all the people participating in the nomination process: defining a candidate they reveal new laureates of the Global Energy Prize to the world. Thus, the "success" of the laureate is inextricably related to the nominating person; therefore it is essential to respect them as well.  Last year we had a real “breakthrough”: we received twice as many unique nominations (i.e., those that were received for the first time). It is interesting to see what impact this promotion may have on the outcome of this year’s nomination cycle”.

It is worth mentioning, that the nomination promotion will be held at the Global Energy Prize booth from 19 to 21 November 2015. Participants of the ENES-2015 will be able to nominate a candidate by filling in the short form in the special system for nomination’s submission. The number of the Global Energy Prize is D16.
