1 000 000 rubles for energetic innovations: the application period for the Energy of Breakthrough 2018 contest is opened
On March 1, the Global Energy Association starts accepting applications for participation in the IV All-Russian competition of implemented innovative energy projects Energy of Breakthrough. Russian scientists under the age of 45 can take part in it. The main criterion is the availability of own development, implemented in production. The winner will receive a personal bonus of 1 million rubles.
"he aim of our Energy of Breakthrough contest is to support young talented scientists and impulse them for the further development of their projects. The contest is objective beyond doubts: every applied work undergoes two independent expertise”, says Igor Lobovskiy, President of the Global Energy Association.
The competition stimulates young scientists to develop technologies that are of fundamental importance for the innovative development of Russia.
Vladimir Putin, President of Russian Federation, stresses: “It’s obvious that the one that possesses own technologies, knowledges and competences will become the leader now. Those knowledges and technologies are becoming the most important resource for development and grant the country’s sovereignty, speaking without exaggeration. What is more, our country, by all means, is waiting for the science’s new solutions that can improve people’s quality of life and give Russia a powerful push for development. Our best scientists and research teams should get all the support”.
The last year’s contest winner is Leonid Plotnikov, assistant professor at the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin (Ekaterinburg). He developed the innovative technology that allows increasing power and efficiency of the internal combustion engines. It is extremely important for the development of national economy because the internal combustion engines are used in all its fields being the most common energy source among the heat engines. The scientist’s main goals are to increase power, economy and environmental friendliness of the internal combustion engines. Leonid’s technology for the naturally aspirated engines increases plant’s power by 15% and decreases CO2 emission by 10% through more complete combustion of the fuel. The solutions for the supercharged engines allow clearing of waste gases, decrease specific fuel consumption by 1.5% and increase efficiency by 2%. That allows to decrease costs for the fuel for one car owner for 500 000 Rubles, which means multimillion saving on a scale of the whole Russia.
The application period lasts from March 1 till April 30, 2018.
