The Global Energy Prize annually honors outstanding achievements in energy research and technology from around the world that are helping address the world’s various and pressing energy challenges.

The Global Energy Association to support the Energy of Youth Forum - 2018

The Global Energy Association will take part in the VIII Interregional Summer Education Forum the Energy of Youth in Kislovodsk, held during August 24-30, 2018. On the first day, the association organizes a discussion board themed "Popular Science. An Image of a Modern Young Scientist "as well as participates in a number of other events.

The Global Energy Association has always stuck to the idea of young scientists, actively generating new ideas, being the future of the Russian energy industry. That is why in 2015 the association partnered with the interregional summer educational forum "The Energy of Youth". It is a project aimed at assessing and developing both personal and professional competencies for the young people in the electric power industry. On August 24, Maria Zelenyak, vice president for development and projects of the Global Energy Association, will be talking about the association’s activities and its youth programs during the Forum’s opening ceremony. In the length of six days, 150 of the young energy field representatives from the 16 regions of Russia will propose their solutions for the development of the United Energy System of the South as part of the UES of Russia until 2025.
Specifically for the forum participants, the Global Energy Association will carry on a session on "Popular Science. An image of a Modern Young Scientist". Winners of the All-Russian competition of youth research projects in the energy field The Energy of Youth, conducted by the Global Energy Association since 2004, will be talking about their scientific achievements, revealing the secret of becoming a successful young scientist. Ivan Matsak, Head of the PAO S. P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia scientific group and the winner of the Energy of Youth -2015, will share his story of creating the technology of the remote power supply to flight vehicles and robotic devices via infrared radiation both on the earth and in space.

The Energy of Youth-2008 winner Olga Boytsova is a senior researcher at the Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Science and Associate Professor of the Moscow State University Materials Science Department. She will be covering the topic of developing the new technological approaches in the production of the second generation’s energy-saving superconducting with improved functional properties.

The award ceremony for the engineering decisions contest of the all-Russian program The Energy of Start’s finalists will also be held as a part of the Forum. This project is being implemented since 2015 by the Global Energy Association in cooperation with the Reliable Change Charity Fund. The project’s primary purpose is to help students with making an informed choice about the future profession in the field of energy. Ivan Matsak will be awarding the winners who will get the books about the Global Energy Prize laureates, famous scientists who made breakthrough discoveries and changed the world with their developments.
It’s worth noting that that the young scientist Ivan Matsak will take on the Global Energy Prize expert’s role for the first time. Within the six days, he will be evaluating the entries and competences of the future generation of Russian power engineers.

The Interregional Summer Education "The Energy of Youth" Forum project is aimed at evaluating and developing both personal and professional competencies of students in the energy field. The Forum’s purpose is developing of professional and personal skills of the young electric power industry representatives, building-up the personnel reserve of the electric power industry in Russia and popularizing the electrical power education and engineering professions. Case-championship becomes the pivotal
center of the Forum’s educational program. The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
