Global Energy Association invites to the first press conference of the Global Energy Prize Laureates

The first official press conference of the Global Energy Prize-2018 laureates will take place on October 2 at the TASS press-center.
The experts will be talking about their innovative projects and scientific developments, assessing energy trends and presenting industry development forecasts. The event starts at 11.00, at the TASS press center.

The depletion of natural resources, climate change, the increase in the number of world energy-intensive industrial centers and the population growth are the new challenges the global energy sector is facing. The world community faces the need to meet the humanity’s growing demands for energy resources while striving to maintain a balance between the energy security, pricing policies for energy supply and environmental standards.

How will the energy picture of the world change? Will the global powers reconsider the energy policy priorities, and what measures will they take? How will the share of traditional and non-traditional energy sources in the global energy balance be distributed? The participants will answer on all of these and many other questions. In particular, the Global Energy Prize-2018 Laureate, Russian Academy of Sciences academician Sergei Alekseenko, will be talking about the possibilities of using the earth's low energy and energy-saving technologies. His developments in the heat power engineering field, which allow the creation of modern energy-saving equipment, made him a laureate of this year's award. A professor from Australia, Martin Green, will receive an award for the photovoltaic technologies that increase the efficiency and efficiency of solar cells. He will be assessing whether his solar panels, which have already become a commercial standard in the industry, would be introduced in Russia, and the amount of investment required globally for the ubiquitous introduction of advanced solar panels.

In addition, Alexey Trinchenko, the winner of the Energy of Breakthrough Contest – 2018, the Associate Professor of “Nuclear and Thermal Energy Department” of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, will participate in the press conference. The speaker will describe in detail his project, and what goals he achieved through his development. Recall that he became the winner of the Energy of Breakthrough Contest for providing a scientific base for the efficiency of reducing the number of harmful substances during the combustion of solid fuel (coal, peat, oil shale) and increasing the reliability of furnaces and boilers at thermal electric power plants.

Another participant of the press conference is Rodney John Allam, Chairman of the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee and the Global Energy Prize-2012 Laureate will be considering the mega trends in the global energy industry and possible scenarios for the restructuring of energy markets.

The press conference will be held on October 2 at TASS Press Center (second floor): Moscow, Tverskoy Boulevard, Building 2. The event starts at 11.00.
