The Global Energy Prize annually honors outstanding achievements in energy research and technology from around the world that are helping address the world’s various and pressing energy challenges.

The Global Energy Association and BRICS YEA determined the path of cooperation

On November 9, the Global Energy Association held a working meeting with the BRICS Youth Energy Agency (BRICS YEA). The parties determined directions of cooperation and joint initiatives for realization in 2019.

During the meeting, themes of support for research activities of the agency based on the established by BRICS YEA Analytical Center, the possibility of a strategic partnership in developing the potential of young scientists in the countries of the BRICS community were discussed. The theme of the implementation of the youth programs of the Global Energy Association with the participation of young scientists and energy researchers - representatives of the BRICS countries was also touched upon.

By the end of the year, it is planned to prepare a scheme of joint activities in 2019 to consolidate efforts for implementation the international energy dialogue of the countries participating in the community. The BRICS YEA team expressed its gratitude to the Global Energy Association for the support provided in 2018, and expressed the hope for effective cooperation in the future.

Recall that within the framework of Russian Energy Week International forum Alexander Ignatov, acting President of the Global Energy Association, and Alexander Kormishin, Chairman of the BRICS YEA, signed a cooperation agreement. The terms of the partnership concern the expansion of the geographical coverage of the parties, the promotion of the Global Energy Association’s youth programs for young scientists of the BRICS countries and the development of international energy cooperation.

The BRICS YEA is an association that brings together universities and young professionals interested in exploring topical issues in the energy sector of the BRICS countries.
