RECOGNISING OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS IN ENERGY

The Global Energy Prize annually honors outstanding achievements in energy research and technology from around the world that are helping address the world’s various and pressing energy challenges.

The Global Energy Association will participate in the World Future Energy Summit 2019

From 14 to 17 January 2019 the capital of United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi will hold the annual World Future Energy Summit, one of the most influential events of the energy area. The global annual summit will gather the industry leaders, heads of large corporations, industry experts, investors and executives for discussion global energy problems. The delegation of the Global Energy Association traditionally takes part in the business program of the forum.

Every year the World Future Energy Summit meets the representatives from more than 175 countries and 850 corporate exhibitors for acquaintance with the latest developments in the energy area to discuss the strategies, trends and the major decisions on the development of the energy area. This year the event will be devoted to the currents questions of renewable power sources and energy saving.

The Global Energy Association’s agenda includes visiting of the key/main panel discussions of the World Future Energy Summit and insights into the exhibition display.

The performance of members of the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee Adnan Amin and Steven Griffiths will become one of the main events of the program. Thus, Adnan Amin,  member of the Global Energy Prize International Award, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), on January 15, will become the participant of the discussion devoted to a climate change issues at a special panel session  "Fireside Chat: Climate Change". In the same day Steven Griffiths, member of the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee, Senior Vice President for Research and Development of Khalifa University of Science and Technology (KUST)., will speak at a thematic session about the importance of international relations in the context of global energy transition at a thematic session "The foreign relations of energy transition – positioning the Gulf " within the Energy Transition Forum.

Alexander Ignatov, acting President of the Global energy Association associate President of the Global Energy Association notes, “the Summit is a great platform for discussion of the energy effectiveness questions and development of the “clean technologies”. The event allows acquainting with the latest global trends and innovative projects in the sphere of energy, and this is an invaluable advantage, considering that the Global Energy Association focuses on actual energy challenges and innovations”.
