The Global Energy Prize annually honors outstanding achievements in energy research and technology from around the world that are helping address the world’s various and pressing energy challenges.

WFES – 2019: the Global Energy Association delegation’s and Adnan Amin Director General of (IRENA) negotiations

The representatives of the Global Energy Association delegation held a special meeting with Adnan Amin, member of the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), on the second day of the World Future Energy Summit 2019 (on January, 15) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Alexander Ignatov, acting President of the Global Energy Association, discussed with Mr. Amin the future prospects and possibilities for cooperation. Adnan Amin noted that he is interested in the upcoming Global Energy Prize Summit and he is sure that its agenda on new technological cycle is actual. As IRENA promotes the extension of renewables around the world, it is important to them to track how "green technologies" are developing in a new production cycle.

In addition, Mr. Amin added that he shares the values of the Global Energy Association in supporting research in the field of energy and promoting the development of "green" technologies to provide world  energy system’s sustainable development. Also Director General of IRENA noted that he considers the Global Energy Prize as an important tool for coverage of issues relating the world agenda in the energy sphere. The parties emphasized that they expect to have dense cooperation in 2019 and development of joint initiatives on the global level.

Recall  that the annual World Future Energy Summit 2019 is held in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi. The event is intended to unite world leaders of the energy industry, CEOs of large corporations, industry experts, investors and executives for acquaintance to the latest developments in the energy sphere and discussion of strategy, trends and the major decisions on development of the energy  industry. Each year WFES attracts more than 33000 visitors from 175 countries, 850 companies exhibitors. The agenda of  this year is devoted to topical issues of renewables and energy efficiency.
