THE GLOBAL ENERGY ASSOCIATION AND MIEP MGIMO: NEW PHASE OF COOPERATION
On February 27, the delegation of the Global Energy Association held a meeting with the senior representatives of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy (MIEP) MGIMO to discuss the format of further cooperation.
The Global energy Association’s delegation consisted of Alexander Ignatov, acting President of the Global Energy Association, Oleg Budargin, the Global Energy Association`s Board of Trustees member, Vice-Chairman of the World Energy Council; Vice-Chairman of the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) The director of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy (MIEP) MGIMO Valery Salygin and Deputy Director of MIEP MGIMO Dmitry Zhuvakin participated in the meeting from another party.
During the meeting the parties discussed joint projects on youth policy, including the organization of the youth congress on the development of the world energy. In addition, the question about the participation of MIEP students in the Global Energy Youth Program was raised.
The Program implies the recognition of promising researches in the energy field, as well as the promotion of scientific activities of young professionals in the field of energy through the allocation of grants and personal awards.
Another aspect of the partnership might be the organization of a joint expert group, which will analyze the current trends in the energy sector, identify scenarios and prospects for the development of the world energy.
Recall that the Global Energy Association pays special attention to cooperation with leading Russian universities that qualify future power engineers. The Global Energy Association has been successfully cooperating with MIEP MGIMO within the framework of the partnership agreement since October 2011.
