RECOGNISING OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS IN ENERGY

The Global Energy Prize annually honors outstanding achievements in energy research and technology from around the world that are helping address the world’s various and pressing energy challenges.

The Global Energy Association congratulates on the Day of Russian science!

The Day of Russian science is celebrated annually on February 8. The Global Energy Association`s team congratulates the Russian scientific community, employees of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and Head of RAS, Alexander Sergeev. The Global Energy Association wishes honored scientists to continue their contribution to the world scientific heritage and young researchers to implement the most daring ideas and continue their eminent predecessor`s traditions.

The holiday was established by Russian President`s decree on June 7, 1999 and was first celebrated during the festivity of the 275th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1999.

At all times, science remains as the main engine for development of society, the national economy foundation, the driver of innovation and technology. The Russian scientific school`s history consists of a series of outstanding scientist`s great discoveries who developed the world scientific progress with their industriousness, diligence and talent.

The Global Energy Association recognizes the importance of encouraging the development of national science and the creation of enabling environment for research. Over the years, such outstanding Russian scientists had received the Global Energy Prize as: RAS Academician Sergey Alekseenko (2018), for research and development in the field of thermal power engineering and heat transfer systems; Professor Valentin Parmon (2016), a specialist in the field of catalysis and the renewable sources of energy; scientist and military figure, Vice Admiral, Ashot Sarkisov (2014), for an outstanding contribution to nuclear safety enhancement and nuclear facility decommissioning; scientist Boris Katorgin (2012), he developed a high-efficiency liquid propellant rocket engines that provide reliable operation of space systems; Alexey Kontorovich (2009), a specialist in the field of Geology and Geochemistry of oil and gas, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences; doctor of technical Sciences, a specialist in the field of thermal engineering of power plants Oleg Favorsky (2008), etc.
