RECOGNISING OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS IN ENERGY

The Global Energy Prize annually honors outstanding achievements in energy research and technology from around the world that are helping address the world’s various and pressing energy challenges.

The Global Energy Association and MGRI signed an agreement on cooperation

On the second day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2019), June, 7, acting President of the Global Energy Association Alexander Ignatov and Vadim Kosyanov, Rector the Russian State Geological Prospecting University n.a. Sergo Ordzhonikidzе (MGRI-RSGPU), consolidated their intentions for long-term partnership by signing a cooperation agreement.

The document provides for the organization of joint initiatives, data exchange on the direction of common activities, lectures of laureates, members of the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee and experts for students.
Additionally, the Global Energy Association will assist the University in communication with the scientific community and participate in research programs of the University in the field of energy. MGRI-RSGPU will invite its specialized scientists and teachers to join the independent pool of the Global Energy Association`s experts, as well as provide a platform for the Global Energy Association`s programs and projects.

"Consolidating our partnership with the University by signing this agreement, we express our intention to support quality education for future employees of the geological and mining industry. I`m sure that the joint work of our experts and the teaching staff of the University will be useful for the development of energy science, common projects and initiatives will make a practical contribution to the formation of a single global energy space", - said Alexander Ignatov, acting President of the Global Energy Association.

"Our interest in long-term cooperation is due to the understanding of the great importance in ensuring sustainable development and resolving global problems of mankind, which is assigned to the energy sector today, as well as the understanding of the ever-increasing role of education in the development of the energy sector," - said Vadim Kosyanov, Rector the Russian State Geological Prospecting University n.a. Sergo Ordzhonikidzе.

Recall that the annual meeting of the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee, which determined the 2019 laureates by voting, was held in the University at the end of May.
