The GEP laureate Rodney Allam hold negotiations with PJSC “Power machines” at SPIEF-2019

On June 6, 2019, the 2012 Global Energy Prize laureate, Partner of 8 Rivers Capital, LLC, Member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, Rodney John Allam told about his scientific development to the representatives of PJSC “Power machines”.

Within the framework of the working meeting with Andrey Rogalev, Head of the Department for innovation of promising and niche products of the Directorate for technical policy and R&D, and Nikolay Fokin, Chief designer of gas-tube installations of the special design Bureau of gas-turbine installations PJSC "Power machines" Rodney John Allam presented his development, the so-called "Allam cycle", and also proposed to design his system based on the data of PJSC "Power machines". In the process of negotiating the scientist recommended to establish the prototype system with MPEI.

Recall that Rodney John Allam is the author of the invention of the "Allam cycle", which is the processing of hydrocarbon fuel into mechanical energy while capturing carbon dioxide and water formed during the process. Thus, this technology allows toobtain inexpensive energy from hydrocarbon fuel without harmful atmospheric emissions. An additional advantage is the low cost of electricity production, comparable to the cost of electricity generation by other modern gas turbines: about 6 cents per kilowatt-hour.
