The idea of developing joint project of the Sirius Educational Center and the Global Energy Association is associated with the development of fundamentally new educational programs for gifted Russian young people interested in studying new types of energy. They will be given the opportunity to study international experience, and real chances to put their ideas into practice.
“Today, science has a great responsibility for the development of humankind and ensuring a new quality of life on the planet. Since the energy sector is playing a crucial role for the technological breakthrough of the Russian economy, we consider it very important to support advanced initiatives in the industry, especially if they are being organized for the younger generation. Modern education and right motivation - - this is what forms the personality potential and opens the horizons for career planning and professional growth. The Association already has a lot of interesting cases that support young scientists. We are truly interested in continuing to inspire the young generation to develop in this area”, said Alexander Ignatov during the meeting.
The joint project of the Global Energy Association and the Sirius Educational Center will consist of a series of specialized seminars, during which leading scientists - energy experts of international level will hold their lectures for young talents. Students will be able to present their ideas and developments to the experts in person. Representatives of the largest Russian energy companies will offer different internship programs to the authors of the most interesting projects with the prospect of further employment.
The idea of creating new scientific and technological platform in the field of energy research was also supported by Rae Kwon Chung, the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee Chairman, member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize. He specially had organized his trip to Russia to discuss this initiative. The expert on an ongoing basis exchanges experience with leading energy specialists of our country (including meetings with the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, member of the Global Energy Association’s Board of Trustees Alexander Novak), participate at key forums and gives lectures for students of leading Russian universities.
During the meeting, Rae Kwon Chung said that Russian students have a big potential for finding innovations in the energy sector. “The Global Energy Prize laureates and experts will support this initiative and will hold lectures and seninars for young specialists”, the professor concluded.
