The Global Energy Association and scientific community of the Republic of Belarus: speaking the same language

On February 26, the Global Energy Association had a meeting with representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus and the International Association of the Academies of Sciences, the latter including the academies of sciences of the CIS countries as well as Vietnam, Mongolia, China, and Montenegro.

Burzyansk Solar Power Station: Bashkiria for Clean Solutions

The largest solar power station with industrial energy storage has been opened in the Burzyansky district of Bashkiria. Its capacity is 10 MW. It will provide electricity to the entire area. 8 MW storage drive will be able to maintain power during emergency outages. According to experts of the Global Energy Association, this project will not only increase the reliability of power supply in remote areas, but will also become an interesting example of the modern energy balance.

The Global Energy Association and RAS: partnership for the benefit of future

In the midst of the Global Energy Prize nomination cycle, the Head of the Association Sergey Brilev and the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeyev held a meeting to discuss joint actions to support basic and applied research, and development of energy science as a whole.

The Global Energy Association and the UN: First Contact

On February 17, the first series of meetings took place between the Global Energy Association and representatives of the UN agencies in Russia. In anticipation of the 75th anniversary of the end of the World War II and, accordingly, the creation of the UN, the parties have discussed the potential for further cooperation in terms of the development of sustainable energy.

An Interesting and Useful Discovery. Siberian Scientists Found a Way to Burn Oil Waste with Less Harm to the Environment

A group of scientists from the Institute of Thermophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS), headed by Igor Anufriev, winner of the Energy of Youth Сontest, organized by the Global Energy Association in 2014, has developed an environmentally friendly method for burning oil waste.

Sochi International Energy Readings are postponed

The Annual International Sochi Energy Readings, scheduled to be held from February 12 to 14 as part of the Russian Investment Forum, are postponed indefinitely. New dates for the event will be announced later.


3rd February

Sergey Brilev headed the Global Energy Association

Sergey Brilev, TV presenter and public figure, headed the Global Energy Association. The decision to appoint him as a President was made unanimously by the co-founders of the Global Energy Association PJSC Gazprom, “Surgutneftegas” PJSC and PJSC FGC UES.
