Sochi International Energy Readings are postponed
The Annual International Sochi Energy Readings, scheduled to be held from February 12 to 14 as a part of the Russian Investment Forum, are postponed indefinitely. New dates for the event will be announced later.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the governmental order, according to which the dates of the Russian Investment Forum are postponed. It says that the forum is postponed due to the announcement by the World Health Organization of an emergency of international importance due to the outbreak of a new coronavirus infection in order to prevent its spread in the Russian Federation, and to protect the health, rights and legitimate interests of citizens and to ensure the country's security.
The International Sochi Energy Readings project for Russian schoolchildren and students was created as a part of Russia's preparations for the 25th World Energy Congress, which will be held in St. Petersburg in 2022. The main goals of the project are the formation of the agenda for the upcoming congress and the promotion of the image of the energy industry among young people by demonstrating the latest domestic researches, promising developments in the energy sector and building direct communication between schoolchildren, students and leading world scientists, as well as employees of the fuel and energy complex.
Within the framework of the event at the Sirius University of Science and Technology, experts from the Global Energy Association will give lectures on current issues in modern energy sector and will evaluate projects of students and young specialists. The main theme of the readings:' Sustainability, challenges for energy transformation and the climate change’.
The event is organized by the Global Energy Association, the Russian National Committee of the World Energy Council, and the Sirius University of Science and Technology with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation.
