Oleg Favorsky, full member, Russian Academy of Sciences, the 2008 Global Energy Prize laureate.

The only scenario for Russia in the future is an urgent and intensive, state-run industry development (for example, as it has been going in China over the past 30 years!). Only industry of all kinds from machine tools to aviation and water crafts can be the basis for the development of a country as well as science, education, and living standards. So far, only resource extraction is developing.
