Head of Tesla and SpaceX Ilon Mask did not get the Global Energy Prize

Swiss Professor Michael Graetzel became the laureate of the Global Energy Prize, surpassing nine nominees who were included in the shortlist of the award, among them the head of Tesla and Space X Ilona Mask.

Graetzel received the award "for outstanding services in the development of economical and efficient photocells, known as the Graetzel cells, designed to create inexpensive, productive solar power plants."

This was stated at a special press conference by the chairman of the Global Energy Prize international award committee, the Nobel laureate, Professor Rodney John Allam.
