The Global Energy Prize Summit was held at the venue of the REW, the main theme of which was Three E (Economics, Ecology, Energy) Synthesis Formation as a health factor of the Earth: The Hydrocarbon Époque – Opportunities for New Technology Development.
Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Adnan Amin, the laureate of the Global Energy Prize (2012), Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Boris Katorgin, Laureate of the Global Energy Prize (2007), Director General of the Innovation Center of Iceland Thorsteinn Ingi Sigfusson, the Head of the Sophia Antipolis Foundation, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian Technological Fund (RTF) Dominique Fache, and the President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Alexander Shokhin. The moderator of the discussion was Oksana Derevyanko-Gozzy, the Head of Russia Today business programs.
Experts discussed the problems of energy balance, the ratio of renewable energy sources and traditional hydrocarbons.
During the discussion, the sides came to an understanding that coordinated actions are necessary in the progression of advanced technologies.
The Summit was crowned with the awarding the prize of the Global Energy Association to Leonid Plotnikov within the Energy of Breakthrough program for his contribution to the development of internal combustion engines.
