THE POINT OF MEETING COULD BE CHANGED
On October 4, the Global Energy Prize laureates RAS Academician Sergey Alekseenko and Professor Martin Green will receive their well-deserved prizes during the REW.
Research of Academician Alekseenko from Kutateladze institute of Thermophysics allows to create modern energy-saving equipment and to design environmentally friendly thermal power plants, as well as to develop new types of burners, methods of thermal processing of solid household waste and safety standards for nuclear power plants. Professor Green, director of the Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics at UNSW, is the inventor of the PERC solar cell, which accounts for at least a quarter of world solar cell manufacturing capacity and whose market share is rapidly increasing because it has an efficiency advantage on other types of cells. PERC solar cells are now becoming a commercial standard throughout the world. Their sales exceeded $US10 billion at the end of 2017 and are predicted to exceed $US1 trillion by 2040.
