The country is on coal mining record

This year coal-mining enterprises have all chances to set another record for coal production not only in the history of new Russia, but also the USSR. According to Director of the Coal and Peat Industry Department of the Russian Ministry of Energy Sergey Mochalnikov. "From 2012 to 2017, Russian coal production increased by 15.5 percent to 410 million tons. This year will exceed the limit of 420 million tons and most likely surpassed the maximum level of production of the Soviet era, achieved in 1988, " - said the official. The RSFSR produced 425.4 million tons of coal and in the USSR as a whole -772 million tons thirty years ago.

Now Russia ranks third in the world in coal exports. The average annual growth rate of the global coal market has been about four percent over the past 20 years - no matter how much "green" resisted this fact. From 1997 to 2017, Russia's share in the global coal market increased four times - from 4 to 16 percent and in the Asian market - five times. That is why the Eastern market should be considered a priority for us, especially since Europe is increasingly screaming that it will do well without Russian coal.
