Expert: a new energy paradigm will become a driver for economic growth

“A new energy paradigm, the need for which is due to environmental and technological problems, will become a driver for conomic growth,” said Rae Kwon Chung, the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee Chairman, IPCC member awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.

According to Rae Kwon Chung, while the world is moving from the third revolution to the fourth revolution, we can no longer rely on the cheap fossil fuel of the first and second industrial revolutions. New economy requires new energy paradigm. The transition to the new energy paradigm can not only save the world from climate crisis, it is also the key for future industrial competitiveness of the new economy. However, transition to new energy paradigm will not be automatic and will not happen naturally. New energy paradigm has to be pushed by innovative and creative political leadership that could lead economic system change.

Rae Kwon Chung talked about new energy paradigm at the HPAIR Asia Conference 2019 in Nur Sultan (Kazakhstan).
